Some Recents of the Kidlets...

Josef trying desperately to hold that head up.

Olivia trying to grab to camera.

little Joe

Livvy loves to smile for the camera.

I heart him.

Olivia - the KD queen.

Looking good for church.

Such a little imp.

He's almost got red hair.

Livvy's got her own sense of style.

I'M BACK!

So I've decided to give this blog here another go. (Mainly because the kidlets are taking an extra long nap and I have surprisingly little to do.) You'll have to forgive me, it probably won't last for long. We shall see. I'm tired of facebook - all its changes and privacy and drama. Blogging is a welcome reprieve. :o)
Six months has passed...Miss Olivia is 18 months old now, and our little chunker bum Joe is almost 4 months old. I'll put some pictures of them in another post. (Maybe. The reason I gave this up last time was b/c I found pictures to be quite the bothersome ordeal.)
Anywho, we are happy. Happy and blessed. Blessed and happy.
Ooh, and I'm thinking I'll end every post with a scripture...won't that be FUN?!

So, for today...just to get the ball rolling...

"...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

Happy Birthday Olivia!

I can't believe Olivia is already 1 year old...it goes by SO fast. We had a small "party" for her on Saturday with some family over. She loved all the attention and presents. Thank you everyone who came! Here are some pictures...

Her cake I made all by myself :o)

Daddy made her cry after he snapped her cheek with the party hat.

She loved these things...whatever they are called.

Presents are good...tissue paper is better!
A few of the party animals!
Mom...I think I might puke...too much cake.

The Obstetrician

So today was the big day of my obstetrician appointment. After a painstaking 2 hour visit with Olivia in tow, it was decided that I needed to see a different doctor.
Apparently, the doctor I went to will not be in town around the time I will need a caesarean section (the 1st week of January), and so, there are two options.
1. A possible referral to a different obstetrician who will hopefully have time for me and my baby in January. (Complete with another ridiculously long appointment in an overcrowded and extremely warm waiting room with (hopefully) equally frustrating student doctors who know nothing.)
2. The baby is delivered on December 24 at only 37 weeks, which puts him at a heightened risk of respiratory distress due to underdeveloped lungs.
Anywho, the obstetrician is going to discuss these choices with the other doctors at the maternity clinic, and perhaps I shall find out more when I go there for my 3 hour appointment next week.
On the way home, Colin and I wondered if there have ever been any cases of "clinic waiting room rage" where people snap for no reason other than having to waste half their day at an overcrowded doctor office. I'm sure its happened a few times.
Regardless, I am still glad I live in Canada where it is all free!
But we shall see what happens...we may have a Christmas baby after all.

It's Time...

After much contemplation, I've finally decided to start a blog! It shall be filled with all the wonderous happenings of the Mortimer household. :o)
Stay tuned for more!
Enjoy!
